A Bit About Me

Currently, in my role as Marketing and Communications Manager at Cal State LA, I am responsible for the day-to-day communications for the College of Business & Economics (CBE). Within my first month of employment, I created the college’s first annual dean’s report highlighting all student, faculty, and staff achievements. For the dual purpose of attracting prospective students and engaging with current students and alumni, I oversee the design of all CBE marketing materials. Using creative content to enhance search engine optimization, I also lead website redesign efforts on behalf of the CBE. 

 

Prior to joining Cal State LA, I was the PR Manager for the top luxury real estate brokerage in Beverly Hills, CA for nearly three years. Here, I honed my skills in strategy development, project management and copywriting; along with managed all media, press, PR, and corporate communications.

Conduct rigorous analysis and market research to understand client's customer behavior, then use that information to develop marketing strategies that raise brand awareness via social media, drive customer growth, improve brand positioning, and generate revenue.

Support the College's mission; develop metrics, conduct analyses, and report on progress and value of CBE's marketing efforts. Oversees design of all marketing materials including but not limited to: creating, designing, and updating marketing content and collateral via marketing channels. Supervise marketing support staff and develop schedules and maintain deadlines.

Pitch, write and edit engaging written content for a high volume of print and digital media marketing. Prepare, develop, and proofread internal communications. Create and maintain a favorable public image for employer by communicating programs, accomplishments and/or points of view. Build relationships with thought leaders and media contacts to grow industry awareness. Evaluate opportunities for partnerships, sponsorships, and advertising on ongoing basis.

Research various human-interest topics and find unique angles to tell stories. Write and edit news stories and features in publication's house style. Ensure work is well written, accurate, and meets deadlines. Keep up to date with trends and developments relating to HuffPost content.
